How Far in Advance Should You Order Special-Event Favors?

Handmade personalized favors require more than simply purchasing a ready-made item. Design approval, material sourcing, production, printing, packaging and shipping all need time. Plan backwards from the event date.

8–12 weeks before: research

Choose the product type, approximate quantity, colors and budget. Start earlier during peak wedding season or for large quantities.

6–8 weeks before: design and sample

Confirm label wording, spelling, date, colors and decoration. If possible, request a sample and complete changes at this stage.

3–6 weeks before: production

Timing depends on handwork, material availability and quantity. Confirm the final count and delivery address.

1–2 weeks before: delivery and inspection

Allow time to count pieces and check spelling, damage or missing items. Delivery only a day or two before the event leaves little room for correction.

Urgent orders may offer fewer options. Browse special-event pieces on Tospika and ask makers directly about quantity and lead time. Agreement, payment and delivery are arranged with the maker.
